Challenges: List

Challenges

1 : TRANSPORTER

Beam me up Chewie!?! Can you imagine how awesome a transporter would be on the Millenium Falcon?  In this challenge,  you'll have the arms of a Gungan at the end of this challenge if you don't practice now with a shake weight from planet Earth.

2 : SHUTTLE DOCK

The Vulcan High Command has just ordered all Aliens to return to the Death Star. You and your fellow space invaders will team up to dock the fuzzy yellow shuttle pod carefully to port. Work together, or you'll end up starting all over again in Tatooine or Vulcan.

3 : SPACE WALK

Howdy Space Aliens! Turn in your green card in for latex spacewalkers and inflate your transport to mosy on over at warp speed to sit down. Use the Force and your bum to self-destruct your transport and signal your next teammate to come over.

4 : BATTLE STARS

Divert power to hull plating and shields, the other team is closing in quickly.  Your hyperdrive has failed so you can't warp out of this one. Load torpedoes, aim and bombs away!  This is going to be an epic battle.

5 : KESSEL RUN

With a cirular spaceship from Earth, how fast can you make the Kessel Run? It's time to beat the Millenium Falcon's twelve parsecs record and go down in Star history! It takes a handy limber team to win this challenge so make sure you stretch first.

6 : ASTEROID FIELD

Visuals are out Captain! Whether you're in the Enterprise or the Millenium Falcon, maneuver your way in the dark asteroid field with nothing but audibles from your teammates. Be careful, if you hit an asteroid, you start all over again.

7 : VSA POP QUIZ

Congratulations! You have used the Force and completed the Kal-if-fee.  Your warp engines are in tact as you jumped to light speed to gather in the main room.  The Vulcan Science Academy has prepared your last challenge. Get Ready to Kahoot!

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 10

GAME PLAY

Teams will choose ten players to compete. Players will take turns and hold a pair of soda bottles in each hand.  Next, the player will shake, spin, or wobble the contents of one bottle to another soda bottle that is connected to it. Once the contents have been completely transferred, the next player will flip the bottles over and do it all over again. The team that goes through all players wins.

RULES

  • The player can only use one hand for each transporter bottle.

  • Players must hold two bottles at the same time.

POINTS

10 points for the winning team

Challenges: About

2 : SHUTTLE DOCK

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 10

GAME PLAY

Ten players from each team will grab the END of the string that is attached to a large metal ring. A tennis ball (space shuttle) will be placed on an upright PVC pipe (space dock) and using the ring, the group must move the ball from point A (Tatooine) to point B (Vulcan) and place the ball successfully on the upright PVC pipe. The team will then move the ball back from point B to point A.  The winning team has the most successfully completed one-way docks.

RULES

  • Each player must grab at least one string.

  • If the PVC or ball should fall while the ball is being lifted, they must reset.

  • If the PVC or ball should fall while the ball is in motion, being set or docked, the team must restart from the point they came from.

  • Every successful dock is five points and points will not be taken away due to unsuccessful subsequent docks.

  • A successful dock is when the ring rests back on the base of the PVC pipe.

POINTS

5 points for every successful dock

Challenges: About

3 : SPACE WALK

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 10

GAME PLAY

Each team will choose 10 players. Each player will be given a balloon (latex space walkers) and form a line behind the starting point. When the referee says GO, the first player in line will blow up the balloon, tie it off, put the balloon between their knees and walk to the end where a chair is waiting for them.  The player must pop the balloon by sitting on it. Once the balloon pops, the next player can start blowing their balloon. The first team to finish the race wins this challenge.

RULES

  • With the exception of the first player, all others must wait for their team member's balloon to pop BEFORE blowing up their balloon.

  • If the balloon falls out during their walk from the line to the chair, the player must run back and start again.

  • Balloons can only be popped by sitting on it.

POINTS

10 points for the winning team

4 : BATTLE STARS

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: Even Teams

GAME PLAY

Similar to a tennis court, the playing area will be designated using tables/chairs lined up to separate each team.  The two teams will be evened out and face away from each other (line of chairs to their back). The players may lay down, sit or kneel. The teams will take turns throwing a foam ball backwards from their laying, sitting or kneeling position and attempt to hit the other team.  To count as a hit, the ball cannot touch the ground and must hit the other player directly.  If the ball bounces from one player to another WITHOUT hitting the ground, then both players are out.  The first team to eliminate all players of the opposite team wins this challenge.

RULES

  • Players can only sit, kneel or lay down and cannot move after being set.

  • Players may not be in the NO PLAY zone (close to the center)

  • Players must face away from the other team and cannot turn around at anytime (even to throw) unless they are OUT.

  • Foam balls must hit the other team member directly to count. If the ball hits the floor first then the player, then it does NOT count.

  • If the ball hits one player and immediately hits another without touching the ground, then both players are out.

  • Team members that are OUT, can help their team to aim the ball.

  • Only players in the game and not OUT can throw the ball.

POINTS

10 points for the winning team

The best of three rounds wins the challenge.

RULES

  • Players must hold hands the entire time.
